Let’s Talk About Halloween In Sleepy Hollow
It’s October 1st and we’re already in full-blown Halloween mode here in Sleepy Hollow.
As much as Sleepy Hollow loves Halloween, the increased crowds bring unique challenges and our Village is still reacting to being a tourist destination instead of proactively preparing.
The current administration made progress by focusing on traffic, expanding parking options and keeping pedestrians safe. We will build on this by prioritizing visitor experience, and increasing local businesses revenues, while maintaining ease and convenience for our residents.
Here are just a few of our plans:
Launch a Halloween & Tourism Task Force that provides thoughtful, innovative ideas and coordinates with all event organizers and local institutions, and considers how to make our Village a year-round destination.
Communicate a calendar of events with details to residents well before Halloween gets underway.
Improve signage and maps for visitors to navigate town safely
Highlight Sleepy Hollow’s local businesses in visitor guides and marketing efforts to ensure tourists shop and dine here in Sleepy Hollow
Aggressively pursue grants, tourism taxes, sponsorships and other outside funding opportunities to provide our Village with new revenue
With leadership that is focused on measurable results, we can deliver on these promises immediately. Want to hear more about other priorities we’ll tackle once elected? Click here to read more.
